Jack Harrison (also know as the Jack of Hearts) is the great grandfather of Debra Harrison (on her grandfather’s side). He was given a large and priceless ruby by a sultan he did a commission for, but he was called away to Italy soon after to do another. He gave the ruby to a friend for sage keeping, but when he came back after a year, his friend claimed that the ruby belonged to him. Jack was forced to steal the ruby back, and he hid the ruby and ran away when people came looking for him.
