Iris finds Shelby crying at the beach and asks her what’s wrong. Shelby tells her that she doesn’t think she’ll be participating in the upcoming surf challenge because she messed up on the qualifying round. Iris remembers that there are two qualifying rounds, but Shelby says that she doesn’t think that she’ll be able to face another judge. She leaves her surfboard with Iris and goes home.
Iris finds her again in a chair by the water. She greets Shelby, but Shelby reminds her that she’s done with surfing. Iris reminds Shelby that she’s been the best surfer since they were little.
