Lolirock Wiki

Statue Game[1] is the twenty-third episode of the second season of LoliRock.

Official Synopsis[]

Iris and Talia teach Carissa about teamwork, a useful lesson when Mephisto and Praxina receive amulets from Gramorr that can turn people into statues.[2]

Plot[]

Gramorr sends the Twins two black crystal amulets that, when used together, have the power to turn an opponent to stone. Meanwhile, Carissa insists that soccer requires no skill, prompting Iris and Talia to take her to a Sunny Bay Suns practice to prove her wrong. As they observe, Carissa is puzzled by the star player Tammy's decision to pass the ball—Carissa doesn’t grasp the importance of teamwork. Similarly, Jenny, a talented Suns player, is called in to substitute for Tammy after an injury. Though she scores, her refusal to pass leads the coach to bench her.

Upset, Jenny runs off into the forest, and Carissa chases after her. When Carissa catches up, Jenny, still frustrated, asks who she is. She then confesses her frustration with her coach’s insistence on teamwork. Carissa relates, saying she hears the same thing all the time, but before she can explain further, Praxina and Mephisto appear. Using their new spell, Petrifus, they activate their amulets and turn Jenny to stone. Praxina then knocks Carissa unconscious with a magical bolt before she and Mephisto petrify Iris and Talia as well.

A Black Crystal Guard carries the statues deeper into the forest, where the Twins prepare a vortex to send the stone princesses to Gramorr. Carissa regains consciousness and, with the help of Amaru, defeats the Guard and redirects the petrifying ray onto Praxina. With no other choice, Mephisto reluctantly teams up with Carissa to unpetrify his sister and the princesses. Once freed, the girls restore Jenny to flesh, bone and blood, who finally embraces the value of teamwork—Passing the ball to win the championship game!

Major Events[]

  • Lord Gramorr gives Mephisto and Praxina a black crystal medallion that can turn people to purple-black crystal statues.
  • The twins turned Iris and Talia to stone.
  • Princess Carissa and Amaru team up to destroy the monster.
  • Praxina accidentally gets petrified.
  • Princess Carissa and Mephisto are forced to work together to restore Princess Talia, Princess Iris, and Praxina from black crystallized stone to flesh, bone and blood.

Trivia[]

  • This is the only episode in which Auriana is not in one of the main roles. She only appeared as the end at the concert.
  • The petrification spell is similar to the dark spell cast by the millennia-year-old undead knight General Dreadbane to silence Queen Goodfey and King Consort Darius of Planet Gemina, from Mysticons (which had just debuted on Nickelodeon), for many months. It was cast and undone non-verbally and did not require a magical object of any kind.
